sK1 is a powerful opensource illustration program for the Linux platform that can substitute professional proprietary software like CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator. Unique project features are CorelDRAW formats importers, tabbed multidocument interface, Cairo-based engine, color managment etc.

Since 2003 year I'm a sK1 project leader.
 The project was started as a Sketch/Skencil fork (http://www.skencil.org). Initially it was planned for internal use only. But we had found that Skencil development was freezed so we published our results in 2006 year. We got highly positive respond from Russian FOSS community so we were inspired for later development. During first months of 2007 year we added to sK1 unique features: universal importer for CDR files (CorelDRAW ver.7-13), CMYK colorspace support for vector graphics, Cairo based engine, etc. These results have been presented on Libre Graphics Meeting 2007 in Montreal, Canada.
Inkscape and Scribus teams have been interested by our importers so we started another subproject - UniConvertor. This subproject is a commandline universal vector graphics translator which uses sK1 engine. It is just something like ImageMagick but for vector graphics and supports 15 different vector formats. We have ported UniConvertor on all popular platforms: Linux, Win32 and MacOS X. Inkscape 0.46 has used UniConvertor for importing CorelDRAW and WMF formats. UniConvertor integration for Scribus project is a subject for Google Summer of Code 2008.

 To improve project informational support for ukrainian and russian users we participated in Open Source Developers Network conference, in October 2007, Kyiv, Ukraine. Many users were really surprised that there is professional-oriented opensource illustration software which can substitute in prepress industry such proprietary applications as CorelDRAW or Adobe Illustrator.

In November 2007, sK1 project was awarded by second place in Les Trophées du Libre contest (Soissons, France) in Multimedia category. During 4 year history of the contest our project was a first finalist from former Soviet Union.

I am Using computers since 2000. I worked of graphic designer as well as web designer into 4 years. I konw programming languages such as PHP, Python, asp, perl, java,c.
I enter the world of free software in 2002 and belong to the association of Peruvian FOSS APESOL.
I Participated in national congresses as CONEIS 2005 and 2007 with projects cdlive with streaming multimedia and e-Procurement for Mypes with Vorbis and COUPA.
This project is the execution of my graduate thesis at my university. I already have two and a half years on exploring the topic of usability.
I know the issue of implementation of the OLPC in Peru. Last year we made a field study in the pilot ARAHUAY for our university. The evaluation we made the with two professors of computer for children.
Now i am participate into Google Summer Code for PostNuke for App Usability & Accessability Overhaul mentored by Steffen Voß
